Home Body

I got my driver’s license back yesterday. It’s kind of a big deal because for the last few years I had to relinquish my driving privileges due to my health. My doctors and I agreed that driving while in a perpetual state of slow motion anaphylaxis just didn’t seem safe and I was allergic to just about everywhere and everyone anyway.

All that’s changed now. The medicines have given me a huge relief of my symptoms and changing my diet also worked wonders. So I got my driver’s license back and I’m free to go wherever my heart desires and the price of gas will allow, so it’s kind of a big deal.

Well, it would be a big deal if I didn’t hate driving around here. The traffic has gotten so bad in the last few years that I really stopped loving driving unless I head the opposite direction of town and preferably only drive the back roads. Roads which can take you nowhere for miles and miles and with the price of gas? Bankrupt you in a day. 😣

So I’ll probably venture out now and then but I’ll most likely stay home just as much as usual, and why wouldn’t I? There’s always something going on here. The irises are putting on quite a show now…

Ladybugs are back and seem to be everywhere in the garden…

Yesterday the most intense thunderstorm briefly appeared and dropped a ton of rain…

And the baby robins are starting to fledge. One of them keeps flying over to the pine tree and back to the nest, practicing with his new wings.

Mom and dad aren’t ever too far…

It’s getting harder to tell the babies from the adults!

  1. I’m so happy to hear about your driver’s license. Your posts, when I’m able, always encourage me to admire the simplicity of life that we can still have when we observe God’s wonderful world, and creatures, all around us. 💛

  2. I’m glad your medication is working for you. It’s always tough when someone has to take a new medication and go through tweaks of dosage to find the right one. My dad is terrible at giving things enough time to do whatever it is it needs to be doing. Lovely pictures!
