Going With the Flow

It’s a lazy Sunday partly because it’s raining and also because of the cinnamon French toast we had for breakfast using fresh eggs and homemade bread. Yumm!

Speaking of eggs, we have two days until the first chicks should be hatching in the new incubator. If they were even fertile. I didn’t have time to candle them, since I was back on the road again. It was really beautiful out there now that spring is springing…

It’s so good to be back home again though and to be honest, if I never leave the valley again I’ll be just fine with that, thank you very much! We had a wrong way driver nearly hit us going down the freeway over by Spokane and it’s a miracle if they didn’t cause a head on collision at some point with someone behind us. The only thing that saved us is the fact that they were in the fast lane and we weren’t. It’s the third time that has happened to us now and I’m just so over it!

It was just one of many annoyances this time around. So we’re ready to take a much needed spring break from being out in the madness. 🀨

We can’t do much of anything outside until the rain lets up, though. We don’t need the pups hurting themselves running in the mud, so we’re all spending the day cooped up. The hubs is busy putting his new bee hives together. He got the pollinator house done first…

While I’m trimming up the herbs and roses, which still have a couple of weeks indoors with me.

The roses, I mean. They are getting their own spot on the rock hill next to the raised garden beds. All of the herbs are doing really well under the grow lights inside so I’m leaving them in as long as they are thriving. I can always set them on the back deck during the warm summer days if they need an extra boost.

As long as I remember to bring them back in and don’t accidentally almost kill them with these cold overnight temps like I did the last three rose bushes! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ͺπŸ™„
