Sidetracked

I meant to bring in the tomatoes and bell peppers, but ended up leaving them in the greenhouse overnight while the temperatures outside dipped into the low 30’s. They seemed to be fine when I went to check on them, although not exactly as perky as they were the day before…

The daffodils just outside seemed oblivious to the cold…

Some of the pumpkins, on the other hand, took quite a hit, but that’s okay. I’m fine with sacrificing them in an attempt to get the greenhouse just right. Tonight I’ll hook up the little heater, something I’ve been hesitant to do for safety reasons (even though I’m sure it’s safe).

I just hate taking chances!

The reason I got sidetracked and forgot to bring in the tomatoes and peppers last night is I spent the afternoon at the vet with Miss Zumi who is having seizures…

They think it’s probably canine epilepsy, which does happen to huskies unfortunately. She’s doing fine otherwise, and at five years old it’s better for it to start now than earlier, they said, but still. Poor baby girl.

Her and I have this in common at least. While I don’t have epilepsy, I spent the first several years of my life having grand mal (now called tonic-clonic) seizures for some unexplained reason and they returned a few years ago, just before my mastocytosis diagnosis.

Which explains my childhood seizures, probably.

So now we’re both on medication and she’s getting extra special treatment just because it’s no fun going through that AND having to deal with doctors, too. Ask me how I know lol. 😥
