Adventures in Homesteading: Life in the Slow Lane

I loved the adventures we had, but it’s such a treat to be home! I wake up with the roosters at sunrise and spend my days cooking, cleaning, playing with the pups and just breathing in the beauty unfolding outside each day.

The robins and sparrows are busy with their nest building, which is fun to watch. I try not to get too close so as not to run them off during this delicate time…

The chickens are back in their run, happy that the snow has finally melted. The bees and butterflies are starting to appear and there was even a ladybug on the roses today…

The bell peppers are flowering, too…

I could spend all day just watching the nature doing its thing and be perfectly content.

Life in the fast lane just wasn’t for me, at least not full time. I’ll probably go back out for a southern California to east coast run over the summer so we can do another Santa Monica or San Clemente mini-vacation together and I’ll definitely want to go to the concours event in Pebble Beach again, but I’m happier and healthier here at home.

Plus, as much as I appreciate our son for helping, I prefer to be the one here full time to manage this menagerie of ours! 😂
