We knew there was a bald eagle hanging around the area because we’ve seen him do fly-bys a couple of times over the last few weeks but this morning he decided to come pay us a visit and was the closest we’ve seen it yet.

It landed a few hundred yards from our back porch just in time for us to see him come in. My camera’s zoom was able to do a fair job of capturing it but the video the hubs took is incredibly good!

It sat for the longest time on top of a telephone pole, watching the fields around us, then began to vocalize and made a few calls before flying off and he caught it all on video for me (bless him)!!

I don’t know what the call means but I’m going to try to find out. I do hope he comes back and comes even closer, as long as he leaves my chickens and pups alone… 😄
