Now We’re Cookin’! Candy Cane Rice Krispy Treats

“What are your feelings about eating meat?” was autofilled in when I started this new post. It’s not the first time this has happened and I can’t quite put my finger on when WordPress started adding prompts to new posts but I’ve seen a few. This one actually made me laugh out loud.

Not because I was going to post about eating meat, I was actually going to post about making these delicious Candy Cane Rice Krispy Treats, but because what a funny question for the AI to randomly come up with!

Shouldn’t it already know? 😄

Anyway, these Candy Cane Rice Krispy Treats I kind of made up as I went along are super easy.

I just used the regular recipe and added just under a cup of peppermint baking chips right at the end.

I added a square of white chocolate and a sprinkle of peppermint crushed up and a dusting of powdered sugar to make an aesthetically pleasing AND delicious dessert.

They came out so good that I made a second batch already. I’d never used the peppermint baking chips and actually bought them to make white chocolate peppermint fudge but this sounded like a good way to try them out and I’d say this little Christmas themed “hack” was a success!

Oh, and for the record, we love meat here! Last week we had this delicious locally raised, grass fed beef roast and these yummy pheasant we raised and butchered ourselves.

We do believe in avoiding commercial and industrial scale meat as much as possible. Both because it’s ethical and more nutritious. Not to mention way more tasty. 😉

  1. Those look so good! I would have never thought of adding peppermint…thinkin’ maybe I should make these. By the way I am getting those silly “writing prompts” when I go to post too. Since I started Mediterranean diet I am more a fish than poultry or red meat person. BUT my husband and I ate at Five Guys for lunch today and WOW that hamburger tasted so YUM!
