Halloween Haunt 2022: Toil & Trouble

I couldn’t think of a better title than that but it’s quite fitting after all the work we did yesterday, including some more Halloween DIY (scroll down for that).

We only got half of the chickens processed and bagged up for the freezer, mostly because we ran out of space to store them! So, like condemned prisoners on death row, they got a last minute reprieve…

We have three freezers but I didn’t expect we’d get as much corn as we did, so this week I get to do some food shuffling to make room for the rest. We may end up sharing some of the older meat from the freezers with the pups, who won’t mind one bit!

They were more than happy that we shared some of the raw chicken bits with them yesterday…

It kept them out of trouble for a minute or two while they digested. πŸ˜„

Speaking of sharing, I guess I’m going to be sharing these cucumbers with the birds because it doesn’t look like they’re going to be edible for us. Most are still misshapen and the one that looks somewhat normal isn’t quite right, either…

Either way, we’ll end up eating them even if we feed them to the birds first. πŸ™‚

While my chicken dinner was roasting in the oven and once all the butchering for the day was done, the hubs and I set about putting together the witches cauldron we picked up from the local party supply store. They were much cheaper there compared to Spirit Halloween, and we wanted one to set in front of the digital witch projection next to the front door.

We also wanted to make it better by adding a small ultrasonic fogger to it.

He drilled a hole in the side for the cord and voila! It works perfect. This little fogger works in shallow water, which is pretty cool. It also has color changing lights, which look great at night.

Here’s a short video I made of both of our foggers in action along with a look at some of the window digital projections we’re using:

We are almost done with our Halloween decorations now, so I’ll do a full walk through soon to show the entire thing. I’m still waiting on a couple more things to arrive in the mail first. πŸ‘»
