Well we’re off to a great start with our Halloween display for 2022! My chicken wire ghost girl came out better than I’d hoped and we added a few new things this year that I’ll be sharing over the next few posts so if you love Halloween like I do, you won’t want to miss them. 🎃

Once we get everything in place I’ll do a complete walk-through but in the meantime, here is a sneak-peek at a couple of my favorites so far, starting with the DIY chicken wire ghost girl…

It’s a bit hard to see her features here (I used the flash on the camera for this shot) but she’s holding a lantern in one hand and a bouquet of black roses in the other. We hung her with fishing line, added a tall tombstone in front of her and placed a swirling light behind it to give her an ethereal look. I love, love, love it! 🖤
Here’s a little video of what she looks like in action:
You can hear the singing pumpkins in the background if you listen closely. This is the first year we incorporated projectors and digital decorations into our Halloween display and I’m so happy we did! I ended up buying five (!) projectors to use in various places because I love them so much.
They are super easy to use, look amazing and really take things up a notch…
We also made a DIY dungeon for the graveyard this year, which came out really great, too…

The fog machine is tucked down into a hole underneath it which you’ll see in action when I do the full walk through video in a few days.
Here’s how it looks in the daytime:

It was really simple to make; just an old pallet we spray painted black and an inexpensive skull and arm bones I ordered online. We added some old chains and set it over the top of the fogger which glows red and voila! A hellish dungeon in the cemetery. We didn’t even have to dig the hole – we just utilized the one already there for the water system lid. The fogger fit perfectly down in there with plenty of room for the cord and air flow. 🙂
We’re still adding more things but we’re almost done already thanks to a lot of help from friends and family who really got into helping us set up this year. It’s already getting quite a bit of attention from passerbys, too, which is great.
We love getting people into the spirit of Halloween!
Speaking of Spirit… I’m off to hit up their store in town to see if I can find a few more things there to add to my display! We have a lot of spider stuff this year so I’m leaning towards the spider eating babies, maybe in a cage or something.
Let me know what you think! Happy Friday, everyone!! 👻
So Cool!

I especially like the dungeon, so clever! Did you not want to use the glow-in-the-dark pain on the ghost girl or did it not work as expected? I am tempted to make one as well for my field. I would need to keep her upright on a pole though because I have a lot of wildlife; owls, bats, bear, coyote and dear to name a few. I love your display! Great job!

Thanks! So when I read through the list of supplies under their video they mentioned the glow in the dark paint had minimal effect so we skipped it. I think I need a small light in front of the tombstone though, it disappears in the dark. Maybe a candle flickering or something? We are having so much fun putting this all together. You should make one, it was really easy! 🙂
