Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadow. It’s what sunflowers do.
Helen Keller
The more I grow them, the more sunflowers have become my favorites in the garden. There’s just something so homey (or homesteady?) about them. You rarely see paintings or pictures of farms without at least one or two sunflowers tucked here and there.
As for me? I love planting rows and rows of them. They help shade the other things in the garden (as well as the pups) and best of all, they are so beautiful.

Not to mention pretty hardy!

These have survived the drought and the heat and are still going strong. New flowers are opening every day.

Best of all, when they go to seed, we’ll be able to save them and feed the poultry a nice fall treat!

Until then, I’m just going to sit here and admire the view… 🌻🌻🌻
Sunflowers are so awesome.
