And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.

I’m keenly aware, maybe more than a lot of people, at the goings on around me when I’m out in the garden. My health issues have caused me to be extremely cautious because there are so many potentially deadly things lurking about. I try to avoid places where the creepy crawly things like to lurk…

And I try to keep a safe distance from the flying things that bite and sting.

I carefully inspect everything I sit on, step on, touch or pick up, just in case. You might say I err on the side of paranoid, but that’s to be expected when you are “allergic to the world”.
Luckily I am not allergic to lilacs…

Or lady bugs (that I know of).

My love of flowers may be the death of me someday, but as I’ve said before, I’ll die doing what I love. Besides, the flowers and bees and wasps (not the hobo spiders) all serve a greater purpose; they help the garden grow and that feeds me and keeps my immune system happy. They are both my enemies and my allies, you could say.
Hobo spiders, on the other hand, are purely working on the side of evil. They even kidnapped and probably killed the world’s foremost expert on them not too far from here a few years ago! 😯
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) _ One of the world’s foremost authorities on spiders has been missing for six weeks and police say they fear the worst. Police have had two investigators working on the case since 48- year-old Darwin K. Vest vanished June 3.
“We believe it’s unlikely he’s committed suicide or gone somewhere on his own,″ Lt. Steve Roos said Monday.
Only days before his disappearance, Vest had notified his sister, Rebecca, that an Oregon business was interested in selling the hobo spider trap kits he had invented.
And people think I’m crazy to not trust hobo spiders after that.
Okay, that’s probably not what happened to him and maybe hobo spiders do have a purpose other than to kidnap and kill people who stand to make money off of killing them or to terrorize me, but for the life of me I can’t figure out what it is!
You should never trust a hobo spider. They are devious.
