How’s It Growin’?

We’re getting some typical East Idaho Easter weather this week. Usually it rains or snows or is generally yucky (for lack of a better word) right on Easter day so we’re ahead of schedule here. The weather forecast is calling for more snow and rain right up until the holiday, which is fine with me because I still have a lot of indoor work to get done!

My indoor seedlings are doing well…

My wisteria is trying to bloom…

And I decided to try an experiment where I sprout things from the kitchen like onion, lettuce and celery…

I’ll post an update in a week or so on those.

When I went out to feed everyone and make sure the chickens hadn’t somehow escaped out into the pasture (we are keeping them locked up for a few weeks so their pasture grasses can regrow), I noticed my tulips are juuuust starting to bloom.

I am just so happy with these tulip bulbs we bought a few years ago from Breck’s. They keep coming back year after year and are spreading, which is what I wanted.

The irises are also starting to come in and will hopefully spread, too, filling in the beds we planted them in. I really need to get out and finish cleaning up around them but there will be plenty of time for that.

In the meantime, I have a lot more dehydrating and canning and general organizing to do here. Not to mention all the husky fur that needs brushing out.

So. Much. Fur.

And not everyone loves the brush…

Chasing and then holding down and then brushing out Coco alone and then consoling him afterwards could take me until summer at this rate (if my arms don’t wear out first!). 😄
