With all of the chaos of the last two years and now possibly facing war with Russia, I am a bit worried about what lies ahead but not nearly as worried as I would be had we not spent the last several years preparing for a worst case scenario (and what could be worse than WW3?!).

Of course there are still things we could do, like finishing installing our newly acquired wood stove, but all in all, I feel like we’ve done a great job of prepping. I hope and pray that we won’t need to break into our emergency supplies, but I feel a huge sense of relief knowing that should we have to, we have everything we need to get by for months, if not years.

I do feel sorry for people who don’t think it’s important to be as self sufficient as possible, but we all have our choices in life to make, don’t we. And of course if a neighbor finds themselves in desperate need we will be happy to share what we can spare, but another thing I feel very good about is the fact that we live in Mormon territory and they are notoriously good at prepping. So I highly doubt anyone will go without in my part of the world.

And that is a blessing, for sure!

While I may not agree with their religious beliefs, I do respect the Mormons for many things and their sense of duty to be prepared is just one of them.

Anyway, just my thoughts for today as I turn off the news and turn my thoughts to happier things. I do hope you’re having a safe, happy Sunday and that you, too, have blue skies and sunshine like we are enjoying today. 🙂
