Sunday Spillover: Alive, but Just…

Oh, hello! In case you were wondering, yes, I’m alive, but I’m still recovering from last week’s trip as well as having family from out of state visiting. They just flew out yesterday and I am spent!

It’s always fun to take friends and family with us to the sled dog races and to show them the winter scenery here in our corner of the world in person. Some things you have to experience yourself to “get it”, you know?

While it was it super duper cold, it was also just so pretty out! Just perfect blue skies and sunshine most all week, ideal for getting a taste of our “backyard” in winter…

It was fun having company and playing tourist, but it’s probably going to take me months to sort through all the photos I took. I told the hubs I’ll probably have to buy another hard drive to store them all on because while some people hoard things in real life, I have a realllly hard time deleting anything digital!

It really is quite ridiculous.

In my defense, everywhere you turn here is something great to photograph though. For example, I really loved the sleigh outside our hotel…

On the way out to see the Tetons after our elk sleigh ride we spotted this handsome moose…

Sure, it’s not the best shot of a moose, but we don’t see them often here so I cherish each one I do get.

The elk were pretty unforgettable but I’ll keep a few photos of them for sure…

And the ice rink in the town square was all lit up as we passed by…

No one was out skating though because it was just too cold that night! 🥶

We stopped in for hot chocolate at the ice cream parlor before the races and I had to snap some pictures of the little shopping center on the way back out into the icy cold…

I got a lot of sunset photos of the Tetons as we passed through Driggs on our way home…

Driggs itself has really turned into a miniature Jackson Hole, and I love driving that way when we go over the mountain.

I’d love to spend more time over there hitting up the shops and restaurants.

Speaking of restaurants, we ate at the Gun Barrel while we were in Jackson and my drink came with the most adorable rifle shaped stir stick…

I loaded up on mast cell stabilizers ahead of time because I love the food there but I admit I did feel a bit guilty eating the buffalo prime rib with this big guy staring at me as I gobbled it down…

I’ll probably delete all of the pictures I took of him just so I can lose some of the guilt. 😄

Anyway, today I’ll be working on sorting through all of the rest of the pics I took so wish me luck and I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday!!
