Woah, We’re Halfway There!

Six months ago this week we were well into summer and the little homestead looked quite a bit different than it does right now. Everything was blooming!

The corn was quite tall…

Tall enough to block the pup’s view of the poultry pens, which is where my cute little buff orpingtons were by now…

They were big enough to move from the brooder but weren’t big enough to lay eggs yet then. In the last six months that sure has changed, though! I’m gathering about a dozen a day, most of which I share with the pack.

The same eggs I’m using today to make pumpkin cake since I still have plenty of pumpkin left from our harvest.

Six months ago the pumpkin vines were just starting to flower.

I know it seems like forever away but it’s just four months now until the last frost so it’s time to start planning for this year’s garden! πŸ‘©β€πŸŒΎπŸ€²πŸŒ±πŸŒ·
