I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas! We had no choice but to hunker down over the holiday weekend as just about every road ended up closed in every direction here due to a winter squall that hit us hard.
We were going to spend the holiday in Jackson but I’m so glad we decided to stay home after watching the weather and deciding it wasn’t worth going out there and getting stuck in it. Instead we spent Christmas morning saving our outdoor decorations from the blizzard’s wrath. 😆

We got ourselves a new GoPro to record our adventures in mushing and really wanted to go sledding to try it out, but it will have to wait until old man winter calms himself down and behaves.
We did make it to town to drop off a few presents just before the worst of it hit and got to see the falls in downtown covered in snow and ice, which is always pretty.

I love that they leave the eagle fountain running all winter, too.

We had a couple of the pups with us as we drove around sightseeing a bit before coming back home but somehow they missed out on seeing the squirrel at the park who stopped for the longest time watching us watching him.

We came back and made a feast of duck, pheasant and quail with mashed potatoes, gravy and homemade bread, which we shared with the pack (of course).
All except the pumpkin pie. That we hoarded to ourselves. 😉
Beautiful pics!! Happy holidays!!

meanwhile the Denver area continues with winter drought conditions. I know people from outside the mountain west don’t know what that is! But we depend upon snow as precipitation and we’re not getting it. The ground is so dry and it’s a dustbowl when the winds kick up

That is so hard to wrap my mind around! Usually Denver is far worse than we are snow-wise. Hopefully the drought ends soon.
