Over the River and Through the Woods

I know I’ve mentioned it before a few times (and probably will again!) but around here, at just about every turn, there is a view that looks like a Bob Ross painting!

Especially on the way to Jackson which is about an hour from our place, over the Tetons and through some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. We’ll be making our way over there near Christmas to meet with family and friends to have some buffalo prime rib at the Gun Barrel, one of our favorite restaurants in the area.

Along the way, we’ll stop by the elk refuge and hopefully get to see some of these beauties who were there last year.

My favorite thing about driving over the mountain this time of year is the views of the Snake and Hoback rivers in winter.

There is just something so serene and soothing to me to see the way the snow lines the banks and the icy water moving down stream.

One of our favorite places to stay in Jackson built this little pond area to paddleboat in during the summer.

I especially love driving past the hot springs in winter where you can see the steam coming off the river in the icy cold.

Maybe this will be the year that my immune system lets me soak in the hot springs again?!

Probably not, but it’s a nice thought.. 🙂
