It Was a Dark and Stormy Night

Actually, the moon was nearly full, there were no clouds in the sky and it was a bright and clear night last night, so we did a test run with the Halloween decorations to see how they look so far.

And so far, so good! I made a video which I will share below, because the pictures don’t give the full… well, picture!

The graveyard looks nice and spooky with the spotlight on it…

I think I’ll put another behind the spider on the dead tree since all you can see is the red glowing eyes at night. Or maybe I’ll leave it like that. Hmm…

I love the swirling ghosts on the garage door…

The little trick-or-treaters on the front steps are just adorable all lit up…

The fire lights and the droopy tree really work well and give a great effect…

Here’s a short video showing all the spookiness so far.

I still have a lot more to do but I am really loving it already. I put two purple fire lights in different windows, one upstairs and one down and decided I wanted two more for the other two windows facing the street, so I ordered more along with some decals that create a creepy silhouette effect for the glass.

I’m going to turn my morning glory flower girl into something, maybe using the spider webbing, since she has a light on top of her already and is visible from the street…

The pond already has color changing lighting in the fountain and the fogger should be here today so I’ll play with that to see how well it works. Hopefully it will drift over to the graveyard to give it a creepier, haunted cemetery feel…

My animated hanging phantom should come today as well and he glows in the dark and also lights up and talks when you walk by him so he’ll go up by the front door, probably in the dark corner away from the porch light…

The animated doorbell still needs a place where the kids can reach it easily. I may hang it below the wreath with some fishing line…

Three more glowing ghost kids are on their way and will go over by the graveyard…

Have I mentioned I still have a lot more to do and that I LOVE Halloween? 🙂
