Oh, hello there friend!

It’s been a while since I’ve been active online but here I am, back again with a brand new website – emptynesthomesteading.com. I am so excited to be back at it! So if you’re an old follower from my days of blogging about MCAS and mastocytosis, you might be disappointed. Or pleasantly surprised. Hopefully the latter.

When COVID hit last year, our lives (like so many others) took a tailspin and in order to save both my mental and physical health, I decided to hang up my blogging hat for awhile and shun social media so I could focus solely on survival. My old websites were hacked during the summer (thanks for nothing, BlueHost!) and that was enough for me to say “enough”! I walked away from them all and haven’t looked back.

Since the pandemic struck, my husband and I have dedicated our time and energy into reassessing what’s really important to us and one of those things has been learning how to homestead our little one acre country lot.

I personally have realized that I’d much rather focus on healing and living well than on disease and sickness (which is why you won’t find me blogging about mast cell disease anymore).

Needless to say, it has been quite a year, which I’ll be discussing in upcoming posts. I’ll also share what we’re doing now and what we plan to do in the future, and hopefully along the way we’ll make some new friends and meet other homesteaders and like-minded people out there. So please, drop a comment, give a like and a follow and I’ll do the same.

Since none of us knows what tomorrow may bring, we just want to have the skills and confidence of knowing that we can survive whatever may come. I hope you join us on our journey.

God bless and happy homesteading!!

  1. Great, welcome back! I stopped blogging a few years ago, and also restarted in September 2020. My site was still here, but my archives are all gone! No matter… I look forward to seeing what you are up to! 🙂

    1. Oh, that’s weird that your archives disappeared! How annoying. My old website was quite popular and was making a fair bit of revenue when it was hacked. I couldn’t even expend the energy to be angry and just gave up for awhile. I’m glad to be back with a new blog that surely wouldn’t be interesting to Chinese hackers. 🙂
